The rise of the industry was bad (at first) for the American workers. Most of the american workers were poor for 1 thing they had no money to live fortunate. they were only paid $1 a day for the long hours of work they put in(pg. 178).
The adults were not the only people working so were the little children(pg . 179) , there was child labor. many children died with out the experience of education.
Soon though the workers started to fight back through strikes and collective bargaining. Employers started to lower working hours and pulling out more cash.(pgs. 180-181).
So the rise of the industry started out horrible but ended better.
Um, I think that the rise of industry was bad for the American workers because, in the book it says that Americans have long cherished the idea of EQUALITY, and that is not what was happening.
The reason I think this is because, the working class included men, women, and children. The children were used to do things that the grownups were not fit to do, and that is not RIGHT!
I also think this because, in the book it says that industrial workers had an exhausting schedule, they worked 6 days a week for 10 hours each time, and they only had earnings that came out to about A DOLLAR each time.
No the rise of the industry was not good for the american workers because the now had to work 6 days a week for 10 or more hours a day, only earning $1 a day. The owners of the factories they were working in caared nothing about there workers safety. There work enviroment was surrounded by whirling shafts, slippery floors, spinning blades, and molten steel, which all has the potential to injure or kill people.
Throughout the day wokers are inhaling cotton dust andcoal dust. Coal dust grinds itself into the skin and never removes itself, and causes lung diseases.they mostly got there diseases from the sweatshops.
I THINK THAT THE RISE OF INDUSTRY WAS NOT GOOD,BECAUSE THEY HAD THE CHILDREN WORKING INSTEAD OF BEING IN SCHOOL GETTING A EDUCATION.(SOME INFO FROM PAGE 178)ONE REASON WHY I CHOOSE THAT IS BECAUSE THEY TREATED THEM AS IF THEY WERE PART OF THE MACHINARY(PAGE 178)MY SECOND REASON IS THAT THEY ONLY GOT PAID $1 A HOUR AND THEY WORKED FOR 10 HOURS( PAGE 178)THE CHILDREN WEREN GOING THROUGH CILD LABOR BECAUSE THEY WANTED TO GO TO SCHOOL INSTEAD OF WORKING.THAT'S WHY I THINK THAT THE RISE OF THE INDUSTRY IS NOT GOOD FOR AMERICAN WORKERS.

Yes I think the rise of industry was good for American workers because for one, the working hours that the union employees had decreased from 54 to 49 hours. Another reason is that the workers could sit down with with the owners in which this made them have a little power. The last thing is that their weekly pay rose up from $17.60 to $21.30 donte mcgee

The rise of industry was not good for American Workers. One reason is because the factory owners would treat there workers very poorly. Another reason is because the owners were imposing low wages. The final reason is because the workers were working long hours and with poor working conditions. That is why i think it was not good for the American workers.
The in industry wasn't good for american workers because there was a spread of diseas, childrens had to go to work some of them died on thier jobs and they were missing out on school. Also they couldn't had any srike going asking for more money, they wanted more money because they got paid a little not enough for there hard work.
Many people might say that that the rise of the industries were bad for American workers but they weren't all bad. Many workers worked for 6 days a week, for 10 hours or more a day. For their hard work the companies paid them 1 dollar a day. Back then a dollar was forth a lot but was't enough to survive.(178)After working for those 10 hours or more the workers would go home to a tenement, slum, or a house. In these places workers wouldn't find comfort.A tenement was a small run-down aparment that was four to six stories high. It was a one room aparment which ment that you did every thing in that small room.(179)All this injustice inspired workers to form a labor union. These workers worked to get higher wages, shorter hours, and better working conditions. They protested until they got what they wanted. For example they threat to strike. They refused to work until they got what they wanted. At the end they got what they wanted but now they can't strike or they would loose their jobs.In conclusion rise of industries were bad for workers but something good came out of it.(180 and 185)

I believe that the american industry was not good for americans. The reaons i have to say are. The men, women and, childern had worked six days a week for ten hours or more a day (page 178). The wokers only got paid $1 a day. The result of 6 year olds working in the cotton mills were a lot. They even had 8 year olds at coal mines. (page179)
It really wasnt good that the industry rose, because many strikes happend. There was the Pullman strike, Homestead strike, Railroad strike, and haymarket affair(pg182). The strikes happend because companies were increasing rapidly and it affected the workers so they decided to make unions because they were only paid $1 a day (pg178). The union focused mainly in three goals higher wages, shorter hours, and better working conditions(pg180).This goals were actually accomplished. Many workers wre happy in the choices. -lucero
The rise of the industry was not good for American workers because they had made a lot of effort to help boost the American Economy. And they were yet treated poorly imposing low wages, long hours, and poor working conditions.industrial workers had accepted to get paid a little amount of money and had accepted to work in dangerous conditions because they could not afford to lose their jobs. The preffer to be in danger than to not get paid. even children were in danger.Thats why some workers decided to join labor unios to fight for a better treatment and to have a better living condition. That is why the rise of the industry was not good for the American workers. -Zulema pg.185
The rise of the industry for Americans wasn't good at first. This really effected the little children. There was child labor in which kids had to work as little as 6 years old. The worst part was that they would died and some didn't even get to go to school.(pg 179)
Another reason why this wasn't good was because the grown ups didn't have it good either. They would have to work 6 days a week for 10 hours and get payed a $1 a day. Sometimes where they worked at, it wasn't the best place to be at. Also they would get unfair treatment. (pg 178)
Last reason why this wasn't good was because they started to have strikes. Poeple lost jobs because they were staying up for what they believe. Another thing was that they would sometimes get good results and sometimes bad result. (pg 182) Karla Ortiz
Was the rise of industry good for American workers? Why (Give 3 reasons from the book and put the page number where you found it)
No, because the factory owners often treated their workers poorly!! They would pay them $1 a day. They would work 6 days a week for 10 or more hours a day. (pg.178 & 185) Children worked more hours than adults!! Kids would not go to school they would work instead..this was child labor (pg.185) Haymarket Affair, Homestead Strike, and Pullman Strike helped turn public opinion agains unins. However , unions gained wage increases and reductions in work hours. This happened because they would go on strikes, boycotts, and arbitration (pg.181 & 185) -Cynthia Y. Lamas
No Because th eownser treated the workers poorly, they werent paid enough money and work long hours. They would work 6 days a week for 10 or more hours a day.(185) Children worked longer hours than adults!! Kids would skip school to go to work this was called Child Labor.(185) Losses And gains for workers Haymarkey Affair, Homestead Strike, and Pullman strike helped turn public opinion agianst unions. This happend because they went on strikes, boycotts arbitration.(181)

I think that the rise of industry was bad for American workers because the of the working class. That is the people who are crushed down while others above the point of separation are elevated. Another reason why is because of child labor. Children are working in factories instead of being in school. My final reason is because the workers had an exhausting schedule. They worked six days a week for ten or more hours a day and only get about one dollar a day.The workers also lived in run-down apartment buildings of four to six stories called tenements. (pgs.178-179) Kierstan Hill
I THINK THAT THE RISE OF THE INDUSTRY WAS NOT GOOD FOR THE WORKERS. THE OWNERS OF THE INDUSTRY TREATED THERE WORKERS POORLY. THEY HAD NO MONEY BECAUSE THEY JUST WON A $1 FOR WAT THEY WORKED FOR.
THE AMERICAN WORKERS PUT IN LONG HOURS FOR LITTLE MONEY. CHILDREN ALSO HAD TO WORK AND SOME CHILDREN DIED FOR WORKING. THE ADULTS AND CHILDREN HAD BAD WORKING CONDITIONS. cHILDREN HAD TO WORK MORE HOURS THAN ADULTS. WORKERS TRIED TO NEGOTIATE FOR MORE MONEY AND BETTER WORKING CONDITONS.
the rise of the industry wasn't good for some people.there was a big amount of kids working in companies at the age of 6.the kids worked in conditions that were harmful to them and harmful to even adults.the workers worked long tiring hours of work and only getting paid about $1 an hour.the boss of other companies lock all the doors so that workers couldn't leave with things that belong to the company.there were many horroible working conditions in were they could have die like the kid that nearly die in a mine.(177-179)-miguel
THE INDUSTRY'S FOR AMERICA AREN'T GOOD BECAUSE PEOPLE WORK ALOT AND THEY GET PAID A $1 A DAY. THEIR JOB IS BORING AND FOSTURATING WORKERS GET KILLED OR DIED BECAUSE OF THE ENVIRONMENT. WORKERS WEREN'T GIVING PROTECTION AT ALL.IF THEY GET HURT THEY RECIEVED VERY LITTLE MONEY OR NO MONEY AT ALL.(PG.178)
CHILD LABOR,KIDS WERE WORKING AT A YOUNG AGE SOME GOT HURT OR SOME TIMES EVEN DIED KIDS WORK BECAUSE FAMILY DOSEN'T HAVE ENOUGH MONEY.KIDS DID THE SAME WORK AS PARENTS.(PG.179)
UNSANITARY LIVING CONDITIONS, SOME PEOPLE LIVE IN THE STREETS BECAUSE THEY HAD NO MONEY FOR AN APARMENT. SOME OTHER PEOPLE LIVED IN A VERY LITTLE UNCOMFOTABLE APARMENTS. THE APARMENTS WERE TO LITTLE THAT PEOPLE SLEPT IN THE FLOOR BECAUSE IT WAS TO CROWDED. ALL THIS HAPPENED BECAUSE OF THE NEW BUSSINESS.(PG.179)
